Looking into Cat Tree/Condos….Question?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat condos

The ones made in stores are wood/carpet. The ones online are made of Faux Fur or Fauz Fleece. Anyone know about these or bought one of these trees or towers before? My cat loves to climb and i want to get him something. I have a small 2 window condo and want to get him something much bigger.

Its alot less expensive than the store and alot bigger maybe 61-70 size. what does everyone else have? and i know boxes and everything is just as good but he loves to climb all the time.

I have three cat trees for my cats, and you really get what you pay for. For some, it is the size of the platforms, or the sturdiness of the construction. How well the carpet is put on, and how it is put on? Staples or glue? If my cat tree can hold three cats, all of them can be massively overweight, and it will not tip over. (Mine are not overweight, by the way!)

Looking at your link, I see the tall cat trees have a maximum weight of 40 lbs. You may not consider that to be a issue, as your cat may only weigh 10 pounds. But a rapid race to the top will put strain on the cat tree. My cat trees can support much more weight than that. You also do not want oiled sisal rope for the climbing posts. Some use oiled sisal rope, as it is cheaper and easier to work with. That is something I would ask as the type of sisal rope is not specified.

The first negative of what I see with the ones on the link are the flat platforms. Cats really love the curved platforms.

I have provided a link(first link) to where I have two of my trees from. One is over 15 years old, and has seen a lot of use, and still has many more years to go, despite the best efforts of my cats to try and destroy it. The second link is of the other cat tree I have. The quality is not quite as high, and the price is lower, and the platforms are a bit smaller. All three of my cat trees get a tremendous amount of use. I do not have any financial stake in either company.
