What are really good cat toys I can get my little kitten?
I have a little boy kitten. My boyfriend got me as a gift. What are some list of toys I can get him. His name is Little JJ and he’s very playful. Do you know a list of things I can get him. And how can I wash him. He always plays in the dirt and I dont know how to wash him. Thanks and please dont be rude.
He’s very playful and he loves to run aound alot.

I had a cat that loved to play with the bows from presents. I would throw the bows to him and he would run catch them and bring them back to me. Just like a puppy, this is the second cat that I have had that played fetch with bows. I think maybe because they are lite and they can carry them easy. Don’t worry too much about the kitty playing in the dirt, cats are very clean animals and he will wash himself often. Cats don’t like baths and baths dry out their skin and then you end up with allot of problems. Make sure to get him vet checked, and if you ever have a problem with fleas, get Advantage…it works the best. Give JJ a pat on his little head from all of us cat lovers here on Q & A.

When we got our kitten, we got those little plastic balls with the bells in them. And those fuzzy little fake mice. Thor had a ball.
As far as bathing, wear protective clothing!

you could get him his own little sandbox, just make sure he understands its not to go poop and pee in…you could try a scratching post, cuz he will probably like to scratch…they have kitty jungle gyms for they to run around in…something he can climb up high on and run around on…cats like heights…get him a laser pointer and just sit on the couch and point it all over the room, he’ll probably chase it for hours..good luck and congrats on the new kitty

make sure any toys you give him don’t have pieces or parts that might come off and get stuck in his throat.
If you have these, just cut them off before giving them to him.
giving him a bath, as a kitten, is going to be fun!
don’t use cold water, make it a little on the warm side.
remember a cats body temperature is hotter than ours.
Just try to hold him by the "scruff" of the neck while you rub him with a lathered wash cloth and make sure you rinse thoroughly.

My kitten loves to play with feathers, those balls with bells, string, catnip, and a scratch post that has toys on it and your cat should be happy. Give him a bath with kitten shampoo or if that doesn’t work our vet told us to use dawn dish soap and make sure to dry him fast so he doesn’t get sick and remember keep the soap out of his eyes

My cats love balls, any types of balls. They also cannot get enough string. Hold one end of an old shoe string and let them play with the other and they are happy for hours. Good luck on the bathing the kitty. I wouldn’t attempt it without those gloves they use to train the wild birds of prey.

As far as cat toys anything with cat nip, they like anything that makes noise and is dangling off a string. pretty much any cat shampoo is safe. My kitten was happy with boxes and a string. I would say if you are willing to spend some money on the cat get it one of those carpeted cat trees.

toys really depend on the cat, but try some of these:
small furry mice (the ones that sort of look like real mice)
sticks or strings with feathers on them – try not to spend a lot on these though because they don’t last long
plastic balls with bells in them – these are great but they do have a down side; they go under the couch, refrigerator, etc. so get more than one
any of the toys with catnip in them make for some pretty funny playful moments
the dirty thing…i don’t know. most cats will clean themselves. he may grow out of it. giving a cat a bath is very traumatic for the cat & the one giving the bath. they usually HATE it.

I’ve found with our kittens, that a plain cardboard box works fine. Put a little catnip in it and they have a blast. Also, you can buy some string and a dowel rod and tie it to the end(like a fishing pole). The cat’s do amazing jumps and run around after the string. Laser pointers are good options, too. They give the cat plenty of exercise and when your done playing, you can put it away and not worry about the cat still trying to play with it and destroy the house.
As for washing him, try some of the powder that they sell at pet stores. I’m not sure on the ages for that though. They also have kitty wipes, like baby wipes, that you just wipe them down with. If all else fails call some local groomers, they will do a great job and trim nails, brush, and put a cute little bandanna around their neck(it probably won’t make it out to the car though).

play toys= they love to roll balls, small furry toy mouse are good and fun. mouse on a string, they love to chase and follow. place a small toy on a string and pull it around and he will follow you and your kitten can have a lot of fun together. make sure to take him in to the Vet and gets his shots. some people are able to bath there kittens when small but big problem when they get older-I used to get a small wet warm towel and wiped my kittens and brush them often and that help to keep him clean.

What I do to clean my cat is I just put some of the kitty shampoo on a wash cloth and I just very gently rub it on her fur just enough to where she is covered. And then I use another one and wet it and wipe the shampoo off. Then I use a towl to get the rest off as I dry her. Your kitten will then clean himself the rest of the way.
As far as cat toys go, I got my cat these little mice. They felt really real and she loved them. They dont make any noise so that was a plus. Or you can get you kitten this little mouse looking thing that is on a pole. All you have to do is just play with your cat with it. He will chase it. I am not sure how to describe the toy.

when my cat was a kitten, he LOVED these little shiny, crunchy balls available at the pet store. they are made of a mylar like material. he chased those things around the house like crazy.
as for bathing him, just go to the pet store and buy a shampoo made for kittens and give him a bath in the sink (if it doesn’t gross you out, the kitchen sink seems to work best for me since the faucet is higher and has more clearance). be sure to use warm water and do it all as quickly as you can because no matter how good-natured he is, things will quickly change once he’s soaking wet.

Well, cats tend to go for the cheaper toy whatever the object. Same with food. For my cat we wave round ribbon, string, feathers, feathers-tied to string, balls (Just big enough not to swollow), Wind up toy mouse, Furry things. (They tend to act like in the wild, and hunt it.) Other quiet objects. For those of you with more money than I, try getting a climbing frame, bop toys, or toys housing small treats.

A cat dancer. (feathers on the end of a string attached to a stick of some sort) They make ones that have suction cups on it to hang somewhere so your cat can play with it even when you don’t want to. Try using cat wipes or a dry bath solution on your cat. It might save you a few scratches or bites.

I have three cats, and they love anything that makes sound. (not loud). I used to spend lots of money on toys, but now I realize that was just crazy.
They really like it when I put treats inside of a cardboard tube (like paper towel roll or tissue roll) and fold the ends over. They can hear the treats rolling around and get kinda obsessive about getting them out.
Also, cats like to get inside of things. I usually have some kind of cardboard box laying around and they LOVE to hide in it. If it has staples in it make sure you take them out before you turn it over to JJ.
As far as the bath deal, I don’t know how old JJ is, but I had a kitten that walked through a pan of used motor oil one time, and he had to have a bath every day for about 2 weeks to get the oil out of his paws. He was very young, so he got used to being bathed, and didn’t mind it even when he grew to be a 20 lb monstercat. Just make sure to wrap him in a towel and snuggle him for a while after, then put him someplace warm (like the bathroom with the heater on) to finish drying.(he’ll probably want a nap anyway after all the excitement.)
If JJ is absolutley not gonna agree to a bath, then I suggest a damp cloth and a flea comb, alternating between the two until he is clean.
Cats do keep themselves clean, but if they get into something toxic, then you have to be prepared.

Be very careful washing your kitten, most cats don’t like water and they catch cold very easily. DO NOT get your cat in water past the neck area or ears. Try to just use a moist washcloth, the cat will clean itself. Outside in the dirt is not a real safe place for your kitten either. My cats are 11 and they don’t go out. I’ve seen too many kitty road pizza’s and then again, there’s people who take in strays and yours may be mistaken for one. Also, before worrying about toys, make sure you get your kitty spayed or neutered, especially if it goes outside. We already have a huge population of unwanted felines. Please and Thank you.
As far as toys, I’ll go with the other answers here. Tin foil is the cheapest and even after 11 years, my cats go for it. The laser light is about $5 at any convenience store counter and that is the absolute best, but you have to be sure to NOT point it in their eyes.

Actual cat toys can can spendy when they get lost under furniture and appliances all the time…but my cats love the little fake mice. ESPECIALLY the ones with the rattle in it.
They also go nuts over ping-pong balls (especially if you throw one in the bathtub!) and the little craft pom-poms. Those you can buy in bulk and they’re cheap-o!!
Anything that allows a cat to simulate his stalking/hunting abilities will keep your cat occupied for hours!
Feathers, pompoms, balls, etc.
AS for washing…hehe…good luck. Have someone there to help you. Some people will say "a cat doesn’t need to be bathed." But depending on where he’s come from, he may need just one initial cleaning to remove filth and stink.
Your kitchen sink is the best place, just fill it with 2-3 inches of warm water and use a mild kitten shampoo (find in the pet department). Don’t wash inside his ears and be careful not to get water up his nose or into the ear canal. He’s probably not going to like it, so make it quick, and make sure you towel him off the best you can before you let him go…cause he’s going to take off and hide for a long time. Let him choose when he’s ready to come out of hiding, and hen he does, give him lots of loving attention, and maybe a nice kitten treat to re-establish trust.
Then after that let him take over bathing himself. Cats aren’t like dogs, they’re self-cleaning.

First of all, you should keep him as an indoor cat only, for his safety. As for toys, the best toys don’t cost anything! Our cats favorite toys are usually a wad of paper, a twist tie, an empty film canister or small pill bottle with something little inside to make noise, a plastic straw, a paper cup, a brown paper bag – get the idea? We tried bought toys, but the only really good one is the little mouse (made of rabbit fur) dangling from a cord on a plastic stick. Have fun! As for washing, usually you shouldn’t bathe cats, but if you have to, use just a teeny bit of dishwashing liquid soap in the bath water. Watch out for the claws and the howling!

First off, be a responible and loving cat owner by keeping your kitty indoors! This way you’ll be able to enjoy his company for years to come!! Remember all the dangers of letting a cat roam free!! Plus, you won’t have to worry about him getting in the dirt! Second, don’t get your cat any toys that have strings or little things on them that can choke him should he bite them off. Like if you get him a toy mouse and it has eyes on it, he could bite them off and choke on them. Get him a kitty tunnel but if it comes with a toy attached to a string like they sometimes do, take the string off. Balls filled with catnip are great too! Have fun with your kitty!!!
