Automatic Cat Toy

I was working on my pan & tilt for a Defconbot (defconbots.org) when I realized it would make a great cat toy. A PC is controlling the P&T, running a random pattern with the laser pointer.

I’m all for random delays. I’d say wait longer when the spot is higher up on the wall, because I think that’s closer to what small insects do…staying longer at a safer place.

I think, there should be longer (random) delays between moves.
0,5-1,5 sec wait, fast move, wait… move..

OMG that is genius …
my cats take turns pestering me all the time for attention. I pick them up and hug them and play interactive toys w/them but sometimes I need an automatic toy for them to play together. So I can get things done or enjoy watching them

Please try to get an engineer to work with you, make it smaller, automatic, timer even and get it marketed. You are sitting on a gold mine here.
