my cat scratches my hands all the time and and scars are all over my hands. wat should i do??
p.s. my cat has a scratching post
If the kitten is the only cat you have he is just treating you like a fellow cat. Kittens are full of lots of energy, not like some older cats. If he’s an indoor cat he needs lots of toys to play with. I’d get a jingle ball, a mouse on a string, a toy that makes crunch noises, and there’s this toy that is round like a doughnut and has a ball inside the kitten can chase. My kittens LOVE toys like that. This will give the kitten something other to rough around with than your hands.

I would not suggest toys with feathers or little strings that can come off. Kittens can play very rough and rip these apart and choke on them. Choose wisely.

Sounds like he is playing with you. If you play with you r cat with your hands, you will get thrashed over time and then they learn to think it is okay behavior when they get older. Try to get some sort of long wand toy to play with your cat and leave your hands for only loving attention not play.

Firstly buy a pair of heavy gardening gloves everytime he tries to scrath you look him in the eye and in a firm voice say NO. If he only does this when you lift him he may be a cat who feels afraid when he is off the ground. Next time you lift him put one hand under his paws to help him feel less fear and sit with him on your lap but don`t stroke him and dont hold him when he wants to go. At first he will jump off them afer a while he will come to you, but don`t put up with his scratching as he is telling you he is the boss, make sure he knows you are by staring in his eyes until he blinks that how cats declare pax.

Kittens can’t control their claws, so having a kitten = being scratched up. There’s no way around it, sorry, it’s part of owning a kitten.
Once the kitten gets older they’ll be able to keep the claws in and you’ll stop having the scratches on you.
