how can i make my cat happy (while on a budget)?
i don’t get to play with him very often since im at work n when i get home im tired all the time. so he gets lots of love n affection, i rub his little cat head n he falls asleep on me, etc. but i feel like he is bored. i got him a ball that he plays with sometimes n he never touches his stuffed animal toys. those cat towers are expensive so i don’t know what to get him that doesn’t take up too much space but keeps him entertained.
HELP
I gave up along time ago on those expensive cat toys and towers. My cat loves boxes, yep, plain old boxes, I have glued some together I have cut out shapes, you get the idea. Great thing is, once the cat destroys them I just bring home more boxes, I work in an office and use the boxes that our stationary gets delivered in. cat toys – again, cheap and cheerful, wool, ribbon anything that cat likes to play with. My cat loves these little catnip mice, I bought in bulk and saved. I bought a laser pointer off ebay as it was cheaper then the ones I had seen in stores.

have you tried those toy mice with cat nip inside them or go to a research lab and get another free cat for him to play with.

buy some really cheap wool, and just let the cat chase it around. little ping pong balls are good too. cat’s wont eat it like a dog might.

It depends on what gets your cat’s attention. Mine likes to play with those twist ties that come with bread bags – she prefers those twisters to any toys I’ve bought for her! Most cats will go crazy over catnip filled toys.

laser pointer…
My cat doesn’t really play with toys. She prefers the boxes they come in… I’d say a couple of 24-pack soda boxes, some strings, and a laser pointer would be sufficient.

my cat loves cardboard boxies. he thinks he’s hiding. he also likes 35mm film canisters filled with beans or popcorn. they make noise as he moves them around the floor. they also like strings or anything that you can dangle above then and they love to grab it. if you lay in bed, they will pounce of your feet when you slowly move them. and a good window ledge is pricless to a cat. i hope this helps.these are all cheap or free.
