how many cat trees and scratching posts do your cats have?

building

One treehouse about 4 1/2 feet tall, but hubby will be building me a 7 ft tree in the spring when our new kitten comes.

  1. When we first got our cat it used 1 scratching post which we bought for it but as it’s gotten older it uses anything from the wooden polls outside to scratching the carpet on the floor or even on the doors.

  2. 2 sisal rope, 1 cardboard tray, 1 carpeted, 1 real tree log post we made taller for the adult cats.

  3. Bowie the deaf wonder cat has 2, 1 upstairs in the bedroom so she can have a stretch in the morning when she wakes up and a larger one down stairs that she can have a good claw and stretch on.

Still doesn’t stop her from using the bottom step on the stair case!

  4. I have 1 big cat tree that my 2 cats share :-)

EDIT: Oh yes and they have 4 scratching posts spread out throughout the house.

  6. Our 2 cats have a huge scratching post upstairs, a smaller one downstairs and 4 flat catnip ones that open out. In the garden they have a ‘catnasium’ built of wood, too.

  10. Two – both are activities centres with different levels that they can sit on/eat on/scratch at. One of them is also just the right height for one of my older cats to use as a ladder to get him up onto the worktop in the utility room where his bed is (under the boiler) as he has arthritis and can’t jump straight up any more (he looks just like your ginger and white boy that you sent a photo of earlier! I hope he is ok now).

Unfortunately, they also like to have a go at the corners of the sofas in both our lounges. I use a "keep off" spray which helps but if I forget to use it they creep back in – the little devils!
