So the scratching post that I set up for my cat fell on her while she was scratching because my dad was moving around and he accidentally pushed it over. Now my cat’s ignoring that post. How do I get her to scratch on it again?
One simple answer:
FRESH catnip. (If possible)
Take the fresh catnip and rub it hard on the scratching post so the juices stay in the post itself.
good luck!

Get some catnip and rub it onto the scratching post and/or move it to a different area of the house so the cat doesn’t associate it with what fell on her on her head.

Well, first, move it and secure it so it will not fall over again! Rub some catnip on it also. While your at it, take your cat into the room the post is in, tie some dangle-y toys to the post. Move the toys around and your cat will pounce on the post. Problem solved!

put treats around it and catnip on it so she starts associating good things with the scratching post and don’t get frustrated this could take time!

the easiest thing would be to rub cat nip on it. you can get a bag of cat nip for a couple dollars at a lot of stores. Kittens do not care for cat nip, though, so if it is a kitten you may need to get it declawed to prevent it from scratching things- or get it a new post.
