How to Manage Bad Cat Behavior

The issue of bad cat behavior is something that every cat owner has to encounter sometime. It is very natural for cats to misbehave. We must not forget that they are animals after all and have the tendency to go wild anytime. It is interesting to know that most of the cats are wild by nature. You can do an experiment by letting your cat be free for a while outside the street; it will act almost similar to stray cats. It will chase mice, hunt doves and do all sorts of things and shock you as if it were never tamed or trained.Like all cats, your cat may also scratch things in the house, however, the solution for this is definitely not declawing. Declawing your cat for its bad behavior is the worst thing and solution; it is nothing but barbarianism! Instead of doing this hideous act, you can do a few other things to stop this bad behavior. In the present epoch, there are a number of other alternatives to this. The list of solutions includes training courses, professional tips and guidance, tricks, scratching posts or pads. All these ways can help you to stop your cat from creating a mess within or outside your home.Cat declawing is almost like chopping the fingers off so that the nails may never grow! It is an inhuman act and should never be carried out. In this present world where we talk to humanism and modernism, every living thing has rights to be free. Cat declawing is a heinous treatment since it implies to remove almost half of its feet, not only the claw. The claw may not grow again once it removed from the paw. It destroys the cat for its whole life and inflict great pain and suffering unto it.Rather than declawing, it is better not to keep a cat if you are too concerned about the well being of your furniture, as animals can go wild anytime. However, you can minimize the chances of such bad behaviors by making your cat undergo proper training and taming.

  1. suggestions how to help my teen help manage the hyper behavior, not with medication?
any other parents in the same boat – how to talk so they will listen (my teen is now not eating lunch during the week and goes to bed late but gets up early, behavior in school is hyper(school calls, cause she can’t manage it) does not want to take vitamins very much (was giving them to calm her)

  2. Its really hard saying. I would suggest to you not to put her on medication for any reason. I was prescribed Ritalin and adderal at a young age and those medications, although help full at the time, made life much worse on me in the long run. They are very hard on a persons mind and body. Perhaps some kind of therapy sessions, or counseling sessions. Perhaps if she changed her daily routine her energy levels will change. But by all means, please, don’t put her on medication.

  3. Your child might be in the manic states of bipolar disorder… she NEEDS medication. Nothing else works… I’ve tried. Do your daughter a favor and get her on some medication.

  4. Vitamins won’t calm her, they just keep her immune system healthy. You need to set the rules and provide a more strict bedtime for her so that she is getting proper sleep, and ask her what she might like for lunch. If she just wants a salad, let her pack her lunch and allow her to choose what she will eat. If she still insists on skipping lunch, be sure to provide healthy snacks and get rid of any junk food in the house.

If her behavior is disruptive at school, it sounds like she may have ADHD or another type of condition that is affecting her…not getting her the help she needs or denying that there is a problem will not help her. Start seeing a counselor, and they can recommend a psyciatrist that will work with you to set up therapy that may or may not include medication…you’ll start seeing a world of difference if you give medication a try, but if it doesn’t work for you there are options available.
