My cat loves to play with string, but she swallows it sometimes. I’m thinking of getting her new toys, but I don’t know what kinds the best. HELP?
Thanks!=P
Big hits with my kitties:
- Rosie Rat (rabbit fur and seude mouse)
- Da Bird feather lure and wand (feather lure attached to string on a fiberglass rod, flutters when your swirl it around the room)
- small to medium sized cardboard box
- paper bags
- newspaper
- laser pointer
- plastic shiny balls (they like our plastic gold christmas ornaments from our Christmas tree)
- water bottle plastic rings and caps
- honeysuckle scented toys (best to get a honeysuckle spray bottle; my kitties are not excited by catnip but go crazy over anything that was coated with the honeysuckle spray, toys that were once ignor became very loved)
Definitely don’t let her play with strings if she swallows it- that can cause serious intestinal problems if not digested properly.
My kittens love the feathers and jingle bell on a wand/stick- wave it around some and they chase it non-stop. Also, they love balls with bells in them. I get all my cat’s toys from PetSmart- they have a good selection.
They also seem to like bottle caps (from water bottles, big enough to where they can’t swallow them/choke on them) and straws folded into a triangle- they like those cheap toys better than the ones I buy from the store!

There is a toy called the ‘teaser’ It has two pieces of strings, but it’s connected to a plastic rob that you hold (she won’t be able to swallow that!). It has two toy mice at the ends with a bell. My cats go crazy about it. No matter what they’re doing, when they hear that bell sound, they run around after it like maniacs.
Make sure you ALWAYS supervise your cats when playing. They like it best when they’re playing with their owners.

Toys that cannot fit in your cats mouth are good things to look for. Swallowing string, yarn, etc can be fatal to your cat or at the very least be costly to you when you need to have surgery done to remove them. Some of cats favorite toys are:
large mylar crinkle balls
fishing pole toys
laser lights
Fat Cat toys (www.fatcats.com)
hard plastic balls
paper bags
TP tubes

A few feet of soft rope with a not on the end makes a good toy. You hold one end of the rope and make it move so the cat chases it.

You can get these tiny little rabbit fur cover mice that my cats have all loved. They say that the rabbits were used for food and not killed for the toys.

My cats enjoy bags, boxes and ping-pong balls. Toss a ball into a bag or box and your cat will be entertained for hours, safely and inexpensively.

Try giving her soft stuffed dolls, and rubber teasers so that it may not harm her..

It’s not good for her to swallow string. This could cause a blockage in her intestines that could actually be fatal. I would get her toys that didn’t have any string like balls and large catnip mice without anything on them.

mine loves plastic bags rolled up he paws at it all over the room, also paper bags he hides inside and attacks if you go by it’s fun
